Sophie’s World: Davos, Life, and The Joy of Living Luxe

Bonjour, my fellow sassy, sexy creatures! It’s me, Sophie, the giraffe, your globe-trotting, bubbly-sipping, life-loving ambassador of all things fabulous!

January is nearly behind us, phew, and I for one am happy about that. What a miserable month it has been to be quite honest. This time of year usually sucks for everyone for all kinds of reasons. The awful, soul-destroying weather, the inevitable comedown after the highs of the festive season, the credit card bills (don’t tell my other half, but I treated myself during the January sales to cheer myself up). I overheard a sassy young lady the other day talking about how much money she makes by doing something called “Only Fans” so maybe I should consider doing that, whatever it is, in the little spare time I have! Maybe it will help me to find my own niche?

But this year? Wow, where do I start?? The fires in LA for starters. Dreadful. Tragic. Unthinkable. The scale of devastation is simply unimaginable and reminds us all again to treasure what we have, where we live, and not take anything for granted. Human nature is a strange thing. It seems these poor people who have lost their homes don’t deserve sympathy because they are rich. But surely their loss hurts just as much as those who are poor. Yes, it’ll be easier for them to rebuild, but when you lose something you love and cherish, it’s soul destroying – whether or not you’re an annoyingly rich A-List movie star.

Stand tall through it all – with LUC8K

I wasn’t planning on going all political, but I simply can’t go any further without mentioning the elephant-sized clown in the room. That room is the Oval Office, and I can’t bring myself to say his name. He is to environmental protection what a hungry Cheatah is to my young calves. It is simply mind-boggling to me how you humans end up being led by someone who is so lacking in basic morals and decency, he makes a pack of hyenas (I HATE them!) look like My Little Ponies. Because of my love of all things British and my deep affection for the Royal Family, it’s through Prince William that I discovered an interesting fact; in the UK, for centuries, the name for a fart is a ‘trump’. I’ll leave it there shall I…;)

Right now, the world’s richest man – a lizard-like space-rocket enthusiast / psychopath is trying to interfere with humanity as we know it, and Fart Man is trying to buy Greenland and turn it into the world’s biggest oil well. The world is going a little bit crazy right now. But you know what? Let’s take a step back. Find time to breathe. To love, to live, and to hold on tight to all those friends and things we cherish.

Live a little, Love a LOT

Life is for living, so let’s all live a little! For me, travelling the world, meeting new people, trying new things – that’s my idea of happiness and how I escape the madness. It’s a luxury that I can afford (well, for this month anyway until I have to pay my credit card bill!) and new experiences, to me, is what ‘luxury’ is all about. It’s not just a word. It’s a way of life, and I think I’ve earned the right to reward myself with a couple of nice things every giraffe-about town needs: bespoke high heels, a Ninja air fryer, some fancy curling tongs, makeup, spa treatments, facemasks, a weekend in Amsterdam, oh, and a shiny new SoHo House membership card (although I might be able to claim that back through LUC8K – a brand ambassador’s gotta be seen in all the right places, right!?)

Life is one grand adventure with LUC8K, so whether I’m trotting along the cobblestone streets of Paris, mingling with the glitterati at Davos, or chasing my mischievous calves in Botswana, I need to look and feel my best, because every sassy lady deserves a bespoke bag as fabulous as you are!

Davos, Paris, and the Joy of Being Fabulous

Oh, speaking of Davos, I was lucky enough to get a day pass, so I paid it a flying visit, literally. I landed by helicopter, but that part wasn’t as glamourous as it sounds. I was strapped into a huge wooden crate dangling by rope, and I didn’t exactly have the correct footwear once they dropped me into 3ft of snow in the mountains! Once I finally managed to plough my freezing cold hooves through the snow, I found myself alongside the world’s most influential minds, mingling over hors d'oeuvres and hot debates, but there I am, towering over the crowd (giraffe perks). I made quite an entrance, and although I was a little nervous, my bespoke LUC8K bag was an instant conversation starter.

“Where did you find that?” they gasp.
“Oh, darling,” I say, with a knowing smile, “it’s not what you find - it’s what you choose.”

The Power of Luxury By Your Side

That’s the power of luxury - it makes you memorable. Whether I’m mingling with the Global Elite, trotting around the chicest European cities or on the African plains teaching my calves how to dodge lions and look fabulous, LUC8K is always by my side. Why? Because nothing complements a long neck like a beautiful bag! Hand made with love, in France my dears! And what I love about LUC8K is - unlike most of the waffle I had to endure from the global business leaders and politicians at Davos 2025 - LUC8K is honest, transparent, and they DO actually care about the planet and how we mere mortals choose to live our lives.

Just before I left, the World’s Richest/Weirdest Lizard Man made an appearance on a large screen, and I nearly spat my stuffed olive out at some of the incomprehensible nonsense he was spewing out of his odd-shaped mouth. The audience clapped, but I could tell from their faces they felt the same as I did; we’d better all buckle up, because with this thing in charge and Mr. Fart by his side, 2025 is going to be a wild ride…

Why Humans Need to Live a Little

Can I be brutally honest? You humans take life waaaaaaaaaaaaay too serious! Deadlines, diets, endless doomscrolling - when did life become such a treadmill? Take a note from me, you’re here to live!
Living is sipping champagne with your best friend at noon because it’s Wednesday. It’s laughing so hard at a comedy night, your mascara runs - and not caring one bit because you’re too fabulous for touch-ups. It’s learning to let go and stop worrying about things you can’t change. I can’t get shoes to fit my hooves, so I get them specially made in Italy. I can only get an Uber if it has a sunroof, and I can’t ever get a front row seat at the opera – it’s just not fair on the people behind me.

Sometimes, we all need a reminder to get off the hamster wheel and step into the spotlight. That’s what LUC8K does - it whispers gently into your ear, Go ahead. Be a little outrageous. You deserve it.

Luxury Isn’t a Privilege; It’s an Attitude

Here’s what people get wrong about luxury - it’s not just about price tags or exclusivity. True luxury is a feeling. It’s that flutter of excitement when you slip on your favourite heels. The quiet confidence of walking into a room, knowing you’ve got your life - and your look -together.
For me, LUC8K captures that perfectly. Each bag is made just for you - bespoke, darling. Not mass-produced nonsense, but a one-of-a-kind accessory as unique as your signature strut or trot. Choosing the perfect colour combination to match your vibe? Pure joy. Carrying it on a night out? Show-stopping.

Because here’s the thing: life is short, but your style? That should be long-lasting and utterly unforgettable.

Let’s Talk About Joyful Indulgence

You know what I’ve learned after years of globe-trotting? People confuse indulgence with extravagance. Here’s the truth, my loves: indulgence isn’t about excess - it’s about celebrating life’s little wins.
Splurge on the bag. Order the dessert. Send yourself flowers. Because every once in a while, spending a little on something extraordinary doesn’t just make you smile - it makes you shine.
That’s what LUC8K gets. Our motto, “Every now and then, treating yourself to something truly special might not guarantee happiness, but it can definitely bring a smile to your face” says it all. And don’t we all deserve a few more reasons to smile these days? Absolutely.

Sophie’s Secrets for Living the Luxe Life

Before I trot off onto my next adventure, I’ll leave you with a few pearls of wisdom that have always helped me enjoy and embrace life’s magical journey:

  1. Dress for Yourself: If you love it, wear it. Go with your heart. Couture gowns for grocery shopping? Absolutely. Pyjamas at brunch? Go for it. The only rule: make sure your accessories are on point (that’s where  LUC8K comes in).
  2. Always Be Ready for Champagne: Life can surprise you - your bag should, too. I’ll let you into a little secret, shall I? LUC8K  will be bringing out an exclusive champagne carrier this Summer, (roll on the sunshine!!) and it will be an absolute must-have! Two bottles? Yes, darling. Because one is never enough.
  3. Find Joy in the Details: The beauty of bespoke is in the tiny things - your initials embossed, your favourite colours combined, and that feeling of holding something truly yours. That’s the magic of LUC8K

Final Thoughts From Your Favourite Long-Necked Muse

Darling, if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s this: you’re not here to fade into the background. You’re here to sparkle. Life is messy and unpredictable, but that’s no excuse not to show up for it - bold, confident, and decked out in luxury.
LUC8K is more than a bag; it’s an invitation to embrace the fun, the fabulous, the frivolous. To stop worrying about “enough” and start living for the moments that make you feel more than enough.
So, wherever you’re headed - whether it’s Paris, Davos, or just the corner café - carry a piece of joy with you. Walk tall. Laugh often. And don’t forget to pour yourself something bubbly when you get there.
Life’s too short to play it small. Trust me - I’m a giraffe ;)
I do hope you can follow me on my next adventure to…all will be revealed! Same time, next week!

Love, kisses, and all the best of LUC8K! x
