Being the tallest mammal on the planet has its advantages. No one understands this more than Sophie.
Her long legs can travel great distances quickly. While giraffes are known to sprint up to 60 kilometers per hour, she prefers to make her way at a more deliberate pace. But she still moves quickly as it’s in her nature.
This ability to cover ground rapidly makes her the perfect traveler. Africa is the world’s second-largest continent and Sophie travels easily throughout its vast, diverse, and beautiful land. A native of Botswana, she often visits her family there and also in southern Zimbabwe and Mozambique. While in her native land she makes sure to visit Victoria Falls, one of the great natural wonders of Africa, a place that makes her feels homesick while at the same time ignites her sense of wanderlust, knowing that the continent has so many wonderful things she needs to experience.
Sophie doesn’t have to go far to see the next great wonder of Africa. While visiting friends in the East African country of Tanzania she makes a pilgrimage to the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. Even the tallest mammal in the world feels small next to this storied mountain.
While traveling from Tanzania to Kenya
Sophie uses her height to good advantage, as she can see predators from afar. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem but she is now entering the plains of the Serengeti, the home of the longest land migration of the world. It’s a sight unlike any in the world but it is also fraught with danger as a great number of predators—lions, cheetahs, and hyena and crocodiles—come to take advantage of the migrating wildebeest, Thomson’s gazelles, topi, elands, and zebras.
Notice giraffes are not part of the migration. That’s why Sophie tends to keep her distance despite the tempting river water. A disadvantage of a giraffe’s stature is that it is difficult and dangerous to drink at a water hole. To do so they must spread their legs and bend down in an awkward position that makes them vulnerable to predators. Fortunately, giraffes like Sophie only need to drink once every several days; as they get most of their water from the plants they eat.
Another advantage that Sophie has that the other giraffes don’t is her collection of LUC8K bags and accessories. With her trusty LUC8K customized Leather Shopper, she can easily collect water and then go somewhere safe to drink without fear.
This shows that LUC8K bags are not only beautiful but are functional.
